Ramsey Baptist Church

About Us

How did we start?

We began as a church plant from Broadway Baptist Church, Douglas, in December 2007. We are a group of all ages from different church or non church backgrounds and all walks of life who are learning together to grow in a relationship with God through His Son Jesus. From the very beginning we aimed to be informal and friendly and to have a heart which loves God and so wants to reach out to share His love with others both inside church and in our community and so we very much enjoy welcoming anyone who has already found faith in Jesus or who has questions and wants to know more about getting to know Him

Our Purpose

Based on Jesus' Great Command and His Great Commission:

You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbour as yourself. The entire la and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments. Matthew 22:37-40

I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Matthew 28:18-20

So from these words of Jesus our purposes are summed up like this:

To love God with all we have - that is a life of WORSHIP

To love others - that is FELLOWSHIP

To make disciples - that is MISSION

To teach and train - that is DISCIPLESHIP

To serve others - that is our MINISTRY

Leadership
